This week we are celebrating senior Miriam Ruiz! She is very hardworking both on the soccer field and in the classroom. She is a four year member of the soccer team and a great defender. She has even won the “Best Defender” award for the team. “Miriam is a beast on the field,” said outgoing girls soccer coach Stacie Burke. “Teams remember her from year to year because it is so hard to get past her.” Despite a tough senior season in match play, one of Miriam’s favorite reasons for playing on the soccer team is the memories she has made, especially those she made with her sister. Family is important to Miriam. “My mom has always supported me, has been with me every step of the way, and has helped me become who I am today,” said Miriam. With the support of family, Miriam demonstrates each day that she is a very hard worker in the classroom. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Indiana University and study Sonography. Good luck and congratulations Miriam! Senior athletic profiles are created by the Student Media Sports Team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
