Speedway kicks off competition in the IHSAA Class 3A state basketball tournament tonight. The Sparkplugs (11-10) host Sectional 27 and will face Indianapolis Washington (12-11) in the second game of tonight's opening round. Edgewood (10-11) and Owen Valley (2-21) play in the 6 p.m. opening game. The winner of the Speedway - Washington game will play Northview (19-5) in Friday night's second semifinal game. Cascade (15-6) drew the other bye and will play the winner of the Edgewood (10-11) - Owen Valley (2-21) game in Friday night's 6 pm semifinal opener.
