This week we are celebrating Rose Win for her amazing achievements as a Sparkplug. She is super involved in the community and has done so much, including being heavily active in the athletics programs at Speedway. Last year, Rose wrestled on Speedway’s first girls wrestling team and this year, she served as a manager for the team. Rose also has played girls tennis at Speedway for three years and this year, she is serving as a manager. “Rose has been a great manager for our girls wrestling team this year,” said head wrestling coach Nick Paden. “She is very reliable, always takes the initiative, and goes above and beyond what she is asked to do. One day this season, we had a quick turnaround with matches and needed laundry done so we could have clean uniforms for the next day. Rose stayed late after practice to ensure everything was taken care of. That perfectly describes Rose and her character.” Rose has always demonstrated a great work ethic and a dedication to anything she participates in. “Rose has been a great addition to our tennis program,” said varsity tennis coach Karly Smith. “She brings energy, enthusiasm, and a great attitude. She is a great cheerleader to all and always brings some laughter to practice, matches, and team functions. We have looked forward to having Rose back this upcoming season.” Rose also shines in the classroom. She plans on attending Anderson University and is interested in studying Criminal Justice or Medical Sonography. She has been pushed in the classroom and Mr. Morrow has been a big part of that. “Mr. Morrow has helped educate me on economics and always gave advice that was useful for after school and going into the real world.” Congratulations Rose. The profiles of our senior student-athletes are created by the Student Media Team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
