SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Saturday morning, the Plugs competed in the ICC Championship at Cascade High School. Led by PR & all-conference performances from Luke Chastain (3rd) & Paxton McChristian (10th), the boys team finished second overall in a very competitive field. Luke's time of 17:33.0 is the fastest time for a freshman in SHS history! Morgan Smith defended her ICC title as she dominated from the start to win the girls race by a staggering 1:13 on way to a new PR of 20:46.8! The rest of the team also ran well and finished in 5th place overall.
