Today we celebrate Amber Chaplin, a senior student-athlete representing the volleyball program. She is a senior on a volleyball team that is off to a great 11-3 start. And head volleyball coach Sadie Pflum believes that Amber’s contributions play a key role in the team’s success. “Amber has been an amazing addition to the volleyball program the past four years,” said Pflum. Her positive and bubbly charisma is infectious. Whether she’s in the starting lineup or doesn’t get in the game, her attitude is the same: supportive, positive, and hardworking.” “I want to be the reason someone smiles today,” said Chaplin. “My Aunt Mel has always taught me to keep a positive attitude about everything in life.” “Amber is a rare athlete in that she comes every day to work as hard as she can and is truly selfless in support the team and the program,” noted Pflum. “She is a great leader and teammate.” ‘I have fun playing and hanging out with my teammates,” said Chaplin. And that’s how Amber lives, very much in the present. While she is undecided about where she will go to school next fall and what she wants to study, Amber will be enjoying the moments she plays an important role on a team that aspires to repeat as a 3A sectional champion. Amber is the daughter of Angela and Michael Chaplin. She has two siblings: Trey, a sophomore at Speedway and Kirin.
