Today we celebrate Braden Polk, a senior soccer player representing the Speedway athletic program. Coach Dean Heaviland had the opportunity to work with Braden all four years and his efforts were on display for all to see and learn from. “I didn’t know Braden well before he came out his freshman year,” said Coach Heaviland. “It was great to get to know him over his soccer career” “Braden always brought a positive attitude to practice and games,” noted Heaviland. “He was well liked by his teammates and coaches and was always good for a laugh. He was equally talented with both feet and had one of the best crosses on our team the past four years. He scored some beautiful goals.” When reflecting on his athletic participation earlier this year, Braden indicated that he appreciated the teamwork and friendships he gained playing soccer. The son of Derrick Polk and Laura Yorger is thankful for the lessons learned from his mother. “My mom uses a level head and figures out all the problems that I bring to her,” said Braden. “Braden will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in the future,” stated Heaviland.
