Today, we are celebrating Hsa Eh Say, a senior representing the Speedway girls tennis program. “Hsa Eh is such a bundle of joy to have on our team,” noted tennis coach Whitney Baker. “She is a constant source of positivity, kindness, and overall laughter that our team loves!” These traits are a direct result of an important adult in Hsa’s life growing up. “Mrs Carlson … was understanding, loving, supporting, and positive (which) influences me today,” reflected Hsa. “Hsa has grown exponentially since her first years playing tennis,” said Baker. “She has been thrown into higher levels of play even as a beginner, and that has helped her tennis skill and ability to grow quickly. No matter what situation Hsa Eh is put in for our team, she will always give her best effort and push herself every single point.” The daughter of Say Wah and Eh Eh, Hsa Eh has an older sister (Hser Gay Ler, SHS ‘22) and a younger brother (Josh, SHS ‘27). She plans on attending IU-Indianapolis next fall and studying Computer Science. Before she leaves, Baker is optimistic about the next few weeks at Speedway. “She is such a hard worker!” exclaimed Baker. “I have seen this in action, so I know her senior year is going to be special.”
