Bailey Small represented the girls golf program this year. Today, the athletics department is celebrating Bailey Small as one of nearly sixty senior student-athletes that have been great ambassadors for the Speedway athletic program. “I love golf and the people I play with,” said Small. “I’ve made good friends playing golf.” Bailey was a part of a golf squad that earned third place at the Indiana Crossroads Conference championship meet. Bailey is also part of a girls athletic program that ranks second overall in the all-sports race. Every afternoon, Bailey leaves the Speedway campus to participate in the dentistry program at Area 31. “I would like to attend IU, study dentistry, and become an orthodontist,” said Small. Even though she will graduate from Speedway later this spring, she won’t depart without some great memories of her school. “Mrs. Doran has impacted my high school years so much!” exclaimed Small. “We see each other at El Toro all the time and just talk away, it’s so funny. I loved being her TA, it was the best of my junior year.” Outside of school, Bailey can’t say enough good things about her mom. “She’s been there every step of the way,” said Small. “She has always supported me and the decisions I have made in my life.” Bailey is the daughter of Jessica and Justin Small. Her brother Evan is a freshman at Speedway.
