Today we celebrate Aung Twe, a senior wrestler representing SHS. In one season for Aung, he competed and won the ICC title for his weight class. His work was impressive and he made a very favorable impression on a young, talented, and improving wrestling team that finished as runners-up in the highly competitive Indiana Crossroads Conference. “He was a huge piece of our success this year,” said wrestling coach Nick Paden. “He always had a great attitude, was ready to work hard, and never once complained. Because of these traits, he became a conference champions with just one year of experience under his belt.” The soft-spoken Twe is very humble about his successes. “I like to challenge myself and push myself forward,” said Twe. “Aung was a steady leader for our team and the younger wrestlers all looked up to him because of his character,” added Paden. Aung is the son of Lah Aung and Tuay Kyi. He has two younger siblings: Aung Lah Shew (grade 6) and Tuay Aung (grade 8). This morning, Aung was also recognized with forty other SHS students as a Student of the Quarter for the third nine weeks grading period. Aung was nominated by his senior English teacher Jeremy Noren.
