Speedway's varsity boys soccer team rallied in the final minutes of regulation Monday night to defeat a talented Lawrence Central squad 3-2. The win earned the Sparkplugs a berth in the Marion County tournament quarterfinals. Tonight, the Sparkplugs (6-3-3 overall, 5-1 ICC) will travel to North Central (5-4-4, 2-1-1 MIC) to take on the Panthers. A win tonight would advance Speedway to the County semifinals on Friday night (7:30 p.m.) where they would face the winner of the Ben Davis/Park Tudor match. The Sparkplugs have played both teams earlier this season, Friday's match would take place at Mary Bryan Elementary School in Perry Township.
