Making improvements in life is always important and appreciated. For Evan Allen, a senior student-athlete at Speedway High School, his willingness to work hard to get better each day, earned him the soccer team’s Most Improved Award for his senior season. Evan and his senior classmates in the soccer program helped with earning three ICC championships and three IHSAA sectional championships during their time at Speedway. “Evan was a great contributor for 4 years...a silent leader,” said boys head coach Dean Heaviland. “He let his work ethic and attention to detail do the talking for him” “I liked hanging out with my friends after school,” said Evan. “And soccer helps build discipline.” Outside of sports, Evan is in his second year participating in the Area 31 electrician’s program at Ben Davis. “I’m trying to get into an electrician apprenticeship,” said Evan. Evan appreciates the support of people like math teacher Lori Doran. “She made sure I understood the work and she always gave me good advice.” Evan is the son of Teresa and Scott Allen. He has an older sister, Morgan.
