There are many lessons that can be learned from athletics. Senior Zoey Andrews appreciated her time on the soccer pitch. “Soccer kept me involved and helped develop friendships and leadership skills,” said Zoey. This year’s squad advanced to the sectional championship game and earned runner-up honors in ICC play. “I could always count on Zoey to play her hardest,” said girls head coach Stacie Burke. “Zoey brings positivity to the field every day.” Not only did Zoey participate in soccer at Speedway, she also spent time as a manager for the wrestling program. “Nick Paden has been a big influential leader in my life,” said Zoey. “He has always been someone I could lean on and look to for help.” “Zoey has been our wrestling manager all four years of her high school career,” noted Paden. “She is a wonderful young person and an extremely hard worker. She is always ready to help out however she can, and we will really miss her as part of our wrestling family next year.” Zoey plans to study kinesiology at IU next year in an effort to become a physical therapist. She also appreciates the support of Christy Clampitt. “She helped me grow emotionally stronger and has always been there for me,” added Zoey. Zoey is the daughter of Nickie Otte and Josh Andrews. She has two brothers (Ty and Joshua).
