SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

A driven athlete and student, Sebastian is a beast inside and outside the classroom. Sebastian is a four year member of the wrestling program and enjoys that sports help him “Stay in shape.” One thing about Sebastian that stands out is his academic commitment. His favorite subjects in school have been his Engineering classes and AP Physics. He is fascinated about building things. He plans to attend Rose-Hulman for Mechanical Engineering inspired in part by Mrs. Mulpuri and the time spent in Mulpuri’s Intro to Engineering class. Family also motivates Sebastian. His father helped him get into the Engineering world, Sebastian and his sibling Asaiah Francisco, who is a Speedway graduate, hope to follow their way into the Engineering field. While representing Speedway, Sebastian has earned the Mental Attitude Award. “Sebastian is about as steady and reliable of an athlete that a coach can have,” said varsity wrestling coach Nick Paden. “He shows tremendous maturity and wisdom for his age, and that translates to the mat.” “Sebastian does whatever he can to make his teammates better in practice, and his devotion to success in all walks of his life are contagious to anyone who knows him,” added Paden.
