Maddy is being celebrated for her accomplishments in her four years of high school involving academics as well as four years of cross country and track. Maddy qualified for the second straight season for the IHSAA Regional in cross country and finished her season Saturday at the Brownsburg Regional. “[Maddy] has really found her stride over the past year," said coach Brian Hunteman. Maddy won the Most Improved Award last year for cross country and Hunteman praised her improvement and dedication to running. “Over the summer when she would get up at 4:30AM to get her run in before she would have to go to work,” noted Hunteman. Maddy qualified for Regionals last year and this year as an important part of Speedway's solid girls program. One of her favorite aspects of the team is the bond with the people in the team. "It's so easy to get along with others on the team, it feels like I’m a part of the family,” said Maddy. Maddy is the daughter of Amanda Hahn and Ryan Hahn. She also has a sister in ninth grade named Makenlei. When asked to recognize an influential adult she spoke about her mom. “She’s hardworking, organized, and caring," said Maddy. "I’m inspired by her motivation and determination.” Maddy plans to attend a four year university to become a physician's assistant, and she has also mentioned that she has considered continuing her running career in college. Maddy is a great student-athlete and role model who deserves to be celebrated!
