Samuel “Goody” Goodman, a football player for Speedway has thrived in everything he’s done. “Playing under Friday Night Lights for the first time, I saw how much fun playing the sport I love was on a big stage,” said Sam. Not only has Sam found joy in playing football and working out, he also is passionate about music. When intereviewed earlier in the school year, Sam was undecided about where he would attend college but he'd like to play football and study Music Education. According to Sam, football drives him to “grow and mature as a person.” He's also inspired by his favorite teacher at Speedway, Amy Mohl who spent 19 years working at Speedway before taking a position at Pike this August. Mohl taught Sam his “love for music”, and pushed him everyday to get better. Another person who pushes him is varsity football coach Shane Clampitt. “From the beginning, I knew Sam had the potential to be special," said Clampitt. "His attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and constant drive to improve set him apart. Over time, he has developed into a standout offensive lineman and a respected leader on our team.” Goodman has done many good things for Speedway, on the field, and off the field. Everyone is excited to see his future as a Sparkplug and in life. Senior Profile articles are created by the Student Media Team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
