SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

This week, we are celebrating Paige Hooper for her excellence in academics and sports. She has participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout her four years and was named Academic All-Conference in all of them. “She can play anywhere. . . she always rolls with the punches, ready to play whatever position we need her in," said varsity volleyball coach Sadie Pflum while praising her ability to adapt and play wherever the team needs her. Paige's favorite part of playing in sports is being on a team and winning. “I love having a bond with my teammates and being able to have adrenaline and the happy feeling of winning.” Paige lives with her parents Becky and Bill, and has three siblings: Lane, Cole, and Owen. When asked who her most influential person is, she said her sister Lane. “She inspired me to be a nurse and has been my role model my whole life," said Paige. She plans to follow in Lane's footsteps and attend either Purdue University or the University of Cincinnati to study labor and delivery nursing. Congratulations Paige!
