Speedway's varsity girls basketball team (1-1, 0-1 HLC) looks to start a successful homestand when they host Greenwood Christian Academy in a non-conference matchup. Tonight's contest is a varsity only contest that will begin at 6 p.m. The varsity girls are 1-1 after winning at Western Boone on their opening night before falling to HLC rival Indian Creek on Tuesday. Next Tuesday, the varsity and JV girls will return to the Morris Pollard Gymnasium to host future HLC opponent Shelbyville. The Golden Bears are in their last year of membership in the Hoosier Heritage Conference and will join Greenwood as full-time members of the Hoosier Legends Conference next fall. Shelbyville won their opener against Waldron on Tuesday and will play at Connersville tomorrow night.
