SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Speedway's boys and girls basketball programs travel to Beech Grove tonight for a double doubleheader involving two gyms at the home of the Hornets. The varsity girls (4-3, 0-1 HLC) will kick off a girl/boy doubleheader in the main gym at Beech Grove, beginning at 6 p.m. The varsity girls are looking for their third straight win after tight games with Covenant Christian and North Montgomery. On the varsity boys side, the Sparkplugs (1-1) and the Hornets will compete in the opening game of Hoosier Legends Conference competition. Speedway earned an overtime win over Western Boone earlier this week. In the second gym, the boys JV team will open a boy/girl JV doubleheader at 6 p.m. Both squads are searching for their first win of the '25-'26 season.
