Today we celebrate senior Macy Pennington, a member of the Sparkplug volleyball program.! Macy is the daughter of Jeff and Erin Pennington and has two older brothers, Collin and Brady Pennington. Her mom and dad have been the biggest influence in her life, “They have always been there for me through everything no matter what,” said Macy. Macy's favorite subject is science, “I believe that it is very important to the world, and the human body in general,” noted Macy. Adding on to that, the teacher that had the most impact on her would be her AP Psychology teacher Scott Morrow, “I believe that I learned the most in this class, and I was the most interested in everything that we did, and Mr. Morrow did a good job at keeping me engaged the entire year.” Macy also played volleyball all four years at Speedway, showing commitment and hard work. “Everyone needs Macy on their team,” said volleyball head coach Sadie Pflum. “ She is positive, hardworking, and is always looking to improve.” Macy has also found herself as a leader this year, having many people looking up to her! “She has absolutely flourished!” exclaimed Pflum.. Earlier this fall, Macy was undecided on where she would like to go to college, but she plans to study dental hygiene “I have always been interested in dental work, and I want to help people have healthy teeth,” Macy stated. We are all so proud of Macy and are even more excited to see the amazing things she’s going to do, and be a part of in the future! Senior athletic profiles are created by the Student Media Team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
