Speedway's girls basketball team looks for its first win of the season on Friday night when it hosts Cardinal Ritter in the annual west side rivalry game. The Sparkplugs will try to improve on a rugged shooting performance in their loss to Whiteland on Tuesday night and the Raiders will enter off of a win against Edinburgh. The Sparkplug seniors have not lost to Cardinal Ritter and hope to make it a sweep tonight. For Cardinal Ritter, it will be first-year coach Jennifer DesJean's first head coaching try at toppling the Sparkplugs. After defeating Beech Grove on Tuesday night, Cascade held an early lead in the ICC standings entering last night's showdown against Triton Central. The winner of that game will hold the unbeaten lead in the ICC race and the winner of tonight's rivalry matchup will join them. Tonight's JV game will start at 6 p.m. in the Morris Pollard Gymnasium followed by the varsity game at around 7:15 p.m.
